5 Years of AWESOME

Get ready for....

The Story of how I knew I was going to marry Raymond Edward Morehouse.

Raymond and I have been together since November 15th 2009. It's been 5 years of an AMAZING ride. Now we are about to embark on the next chapter in our lives, Parenthood. Here are some pics from our Year 1/2 of dating. I'm so glad I found someone who I can be totally myself with and he still loves me. Crazy and all. He is going to be one amazing Dad.

Spring 09
This was the day I knew I loved Raymond. We were at a picnic with his School and we decided to play softball. Raymond and I were on opposing teams and I was up to bat. I hit a nice one out to Raymond in the outfield and when I was rounding 1st my knee gave out and I hit the dirt, hard. Let's just say, I didn't get up quickly. Raymond ran over to help me, bent down and lovingly said, "You have dirt in your teeth. Here, let me get it for you". Bahaha This man is willing to pick dirt out of my teeth. FOR REAL?

I had a huge cherry running down my leg and scrapes on my face. I immediately drove home so no one would see me cry. On the drive home my wrist started to swell and I could no longer use it. That night I was in so much pain that I called Raymond at around midnight. He immediately got in his car and drove the 45 minutes to come take care of me.

Now you should know that my reaction to any kind of pain, sadness, and stress is to throw up. Lovely, I know. So here I am barfing and crying because I was so uncomfortable. Raymond put me in bed and calmed me down. He stayed all night not sleeping a wink himself because I was groaning and being very wiggly and he was worried about me.

The next morning I had to lead worship at Threshold. There was no way I was going to be able to do my hair by myself. Raymond did my hair FOR ME!  Who is this man???

This was the man I was going to marry. A man who would be loving and caring. A man who would try to make me as comfortable as possible in rough situations. This was the best decision I have ever made behind my choice to follow Christ.

I had to wear a wrist brace for the next several months... blah. Graceful MB Strikes again.
SES Graduation
This is Raymond's first masters degree. Oh, little did I know how many graduations I would see this man through! haha Here is to his 4th and final post-grad degree! Come ON PhD!!!! I really do love this smarty pants.

So much Crazy

Hello Friends!

The title of this post has a double meaning... I know, I know, I'm super clever.  ;)

There are so many things that have happened since my last post! Snaphot:

June:
  • Raymond went to Iceland with his Dad and Brother for a boys week. They had a great time!
July:
  •  I got more pregnant. (bigger that is, still only one in there)
  • July 29th we found out we are having a BOY!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to play with this little guy
  • Work was crazy for both of us. Raymond had tons of papers to write and present at different conferences. One of which brought him to Germany the week before we flew home.
August:

  • Flew to New York and spend a lovely week with the Morehouse Family. It was relaxing and tons of fun. We went pontooning. shot fireworks, played ladder ball, ATE, went hiking, and cruised around in the Bronco and Falcon. (both convertible tops). We Loved getting to hang out with the Family and esp our awesome Nephews.

  • After New York we spent a week in Charlotte and had a very busy schedule! We did a lot of fun things like hanging out, shopping, geocaching, bowling, cornhole, and partying! My AMAZING sister-in-law Abby, my twiny Laura , and my Mom threw me an awesome baby shower where there was no games in sight. Let's just say I'm not a baby shower lover but this one rocked!

  • I FINALLY got  to meet my ADORABLE niece Blair. I wanted to eat her up she was so precious.

  • We flew home and moved house!!! We LOVE our new place. Future blog to come when it's all decorated pretty!
  •  I had just a few weeks to get ready for the big University of St Andrews 600th Academic Celebrations.
 September

  • The 600th pretty much consumed my every waking hour. I put in an 87 hr work week the week of the event and was toooooo pooped to pop for the two weeks following. But the events went off without a hitch and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves! HORRAY!
  • I was hit on walking down the street!!!!!!!
Arn't you super prego? Yes, yes I am. In all fairness this man in his 40s was riding a bike behind me so he didn't have that much time to notice my big bump. His cat call of choice was "Hey Gorgeous" I ignored him thinking he can't have meant me (there was no one else around). He said again "Hey Gorgeous" as he was creepily cycling super slowly behind me. This time I did respond. And this conversation ensued
"You have GOT to be kidding me"
"What??? I can't call you gorgeous? I'm allowed to say you are gorgeous"  (cycles up beside me)
"This is not an appropriate way to approach strangers"
" Are you Pregnant???"
"VERY"
"Oh... yeah.... umm... congrats" (as he quickly veers down another street)

You meet all kinds in your life time.
  • Mom and Dad came to visit us on their way to Israel. It was awesome to see them and we got tons of stuff organized and made a trip to Ikea! I'm still recovering from having to navigate while my Dad drove. Those big round-a-bouts are scary! He did great though.
  • Raymond and Dad played the Castle Course golf course overlooking St Andrews and they had a blast. Raymond is still learning!

BABY UPDATE

He is a mover and a shaker! He's constantly wigglin' round and it has been SO much fun to feel him. We sing/talk to him often and Raymond is still demanding that he do the dishes, in his best "Dad Voice"

I have been slightly emotional. Hence the name of this blog! I don't think I've ever cried or been more insecure as I have been while preggers. I cried/ started a fight with Raymond yesterday over Cheese!!!!! CHEESE??????? Oh My Lanta this man deserves an award for having to put up with me.

Y'all need to pray for him.
